The Valles Pool––Home to three championship aquatic teams and hundreds of individual swimmers––needs your help. The New Canaan YMCA is honored to work with so many talented and committed young athletes and is equally appreciative of the time, talent and financial resources so generously contributed by their parents. And yet, even with all the good things that come out of the New Canaan YMCA’s various swim programs, it is a fact that our aquatic environment is both outdated and inefficient. With the YMCA building now complete, there is more interest in bringing the pool up to the level of the new part of the building. In particular, the pool––built in 1980––needs cosmetic improvement, equipment enhancements and many repairs.....

  • Paint the entire pool environment
  • Buy new lane lines

  • Repair the roof

Glossary of Meat

BONELESS STRIP - The perfect steak for grill or broiler.  Some call this New York Strip, others Kansas City Strip.  Whatever you call them, our Boneless Strips are a definite favorite of our customers.  In fact they’re often referred to as the “ultimate cookout steak”

GOURMET BURGERS - 85% lean patties ground from our own steak trimmings for that corn-fed flavor you crave.  Old-fashioned burgers just the way you like them.  Extra juicy with a flavor that’s out of this world.  Omaha Steak Burgers are a grilling favorite. 

FILET MIGNONS - Known for its exceptional taste and texture, Filet Mignon comes from the heart of the beef tenderloin.  This elegant cut is made to be savored and guaranteed to impress.  We start with premium, grain-fed beef that is naturally aged to give peak flavor and tenderness.

RIBEYE STEAKS - Carved from the center of premium Prime Rib Roast, these magnificent steaks will amaze you.  They have just the right amount of marbling to give you a juicy, flavorful steak that’s second to none.  You’ll get exquisite tenderness combined with the mellow flavor of Prime Rib.

TOP SIRLOIN - Lean, firm and full of flavor….these steaks are a true grilling sensation with a hearty steak flavor that you can’t find anywhere else.  An 8 0z Top Sirloin is approximately 1 1/8 inch thick.

T-BONE STEAK - T-Bone steak is like two steaks in one.  One side is a bone-in Strip Sirloin.  The other side is a tasty portion of Filet Mignon.  The Porterhouse, “The King of the T-Bone”, boasts a plentiful portion of tenderloin.  It’s like having an entire Filet Mignon and Strip Sirloin on your plate!
